For a local business the Google Business Profile is the most important thing you have. We have a dedicated person for the Google Business Profile of each client, trained specifically in it.

We optimise the profile properly right at the beginning. All your services, all your products, your timings and your business description have to be written properly, with the keywords flowing naturally inside the content, not stuffed in. We use the primary keyword along with the related and secondary terms, and we post content regularly. Reviews

Reviews are what people judge you on, so we build a proper system for them. We ask our clients to keep a QR code, so a customer can scan it once and leave a review on the Google Business Profile straight away. We also share the review link with the client so they can send it to their customers directly.

When a review is genuinely negative, and sometimes it is, there is nothing to do except respond honestly, in a friendly and welcoming way, acknowledge what happened and explain how we can fix it.

But a lot of bad reviews aren't from real customers at all. Sometimes they come from people who have nothing to do with the business, or from an ex-employee who was let go for not doing their job. Those can be reported. There are forms where you can tell Google exactly what happened, and if it is an ex-employee creating a fuss it gets handled. And if a review is really harsh, or personally attacks someone, that goes against Google's guidelines too and it can be appealed to Google's team.

If a client has multiple locations, we do the SEO for each location separately, with its own page. If it is a single location, we build the local pages around the local keywords.

Say the keyword is dentist in Kochi. We find all the related terms and the synonyms, things like implants in, implantologists in, and every other way people search for that service in that place. We compare against whoever is sitting in the top three spots on Google. Then we build a proper local page serving Kochi, with real testimonials from people who actually visited the clinic, the map embedded in the page, and the name, address and phone number consistent across the internet. The local keywords go into the title, the meta description and through the content.

From there we build out a page for every service, and a page for the team itself, the doctors and their specialisations, and we work E-E-A-T, experience, expertise, authority and trust, through all of it.

Citations and directories

Which directories we go for depends on your business, your sector and what your competitors are doing. If a directory has nothing to do with you, we don't list you there. But if you are a local business, directories are something you definitely have to work on. We create and optimise the profile and we ask you to get reviews from your own customers.

The AI platforms are now reading those review sites and directories to see what people are saying about a business, and that feeds into the AI overviews. So it matters for AI SEO as well.

We also fix your NAP, the name, address and phone number, across everywhere you are listed. For Olive Builders, a well-known brand, the details were inconsistent across the directories.
