No "free migration" that turns out to be a plugin you run yourself. An engineer does it.
What gets moved
A cPanel-to-cPanel migration is a full account transfer. Everything below comes across:
- Website filesevery domain, subdomain and addon domain in the account
- DatabasesMySQL/MariaDB, with users and permissions
- Emailaccounts, passwords, existing mail, forwarders, autoresponders, filters
- DNS zone recordsso your MX, SPF, DKIM and third-party records don't vanish
- SSL certificatesre-issued through cPanel where needed so there's no gap
- Cron jobs, FTP accounts, PHP version settings
For non-cPanel migrations we rebuild the same set by hand: export files and database, recreate mailboxes, copy DNS records, issue new SSL. It's slower, which is why it's USD 100, but the outcome is the same.
How we do it without downtime
- You send access.Your current host's cPanel login (or panel/SFTP details for non-cPanel), and the domains involved. We keep credentials in an encrypted vault and delete them when the job's done.
- We copy the accountto Techpullers Cloud. Your live site keeps running at the old host; nothing changes yet.
- You test on a temporary URL.We give you a preview address. You click through, log in, place a test order if it's a store. If something's off, we fix it before going further.
- We switch nameserversor update A/MX records if you manage DNS elsewhere, and re-issue SSL.
- Both hosts stay live during propagation. For 24–48 hours some visitors reach the old server and some the new; both work. Email on the old server during that window is synced across at the end.
- We confirm, you cancel the old host. Not before.
Typical turnaround: a single site is usually done within one business day of receiving access; a multi-site account or a large store, two to three days. We'll give you a date when we start.
Why an SEO agency cares about migrations
Because we've watched them go wrong. A migration that changes URLs, drops redirects, breaks SSL or loses the robots.txt can take months off a site's rankings. Our own case study on this, why rankings fluctuate after hosting changes, exists because clients came to us after someone else's migration.
So the checklist we run on every move includes the SEO items most hosts skip: same URL structure, .htaccess and redirect rules preserved, SSL valid before the switch, sitemap resubmitted, Search Console checked for crawl errors in the following week.
For Shellharbour Dentist in Australia we fixed a broken SSL and speed issues during a technical cleanup, and organic traffic rose 250% over the next six months. The point isn't that migration causes growth; it's that a careful one doesn't cause a loss.
Moving from specific hosts
From Hostinger (hPanel). Not cPanel, so USD 100. We export via their backup tool or SFTP, rebuild email, and copy DNS. Common gotcha: Hostinger's LiteSpeed cache settings don't carry over (we reconfigure them.
From GoDaddy. cPanel plans are free; GoDaddy Website Builder sites can't be migrated (they're not portable)) we'll tell you honestly and quote a rebuild instead.
From Kinsta, WP Engine, Flywheel, Cloudways. USD 100. These hosts use custom stacks; we take a full site export, recreate on LiteSpeed with LSCache, and check plugin compatibility (some host-specific mu-plugins need removing).
From a VPS someone set up for you. USD 100 per site. We'll need SSH access, or a backup file.
From another agency's reseller account. Free if it's cPanel, but check your contract with them first. We can talk to them on your behalf if that's easier.
What we'll ask you before starting
- Which domains, and whether any should stay behind
- Where your DNS is managed (registrar, Cloudflare, host)
- Whether email is with the host or with Google Workspace / Microsoft 365 (if the latter, we just preserve MX records)
- Any custom PHP version, Node app, cron job or licence key we should know about
- The best time for the nameserver switch, if timing matters for your business
Frequently asked questions
Will my site go down?
No. The old host stays live until DNS has fully propagated to the new one.
Will my email stop?
No. Mailboxes are recreated with the same addresses and passwords; mail that arrives at the old server during propagation is synced across.
Do I have to be technical?
No. You send login details and test the preview; we do the rest.
Can you migrate a hacked site?
Yes. We'll clean it during the move and tell you what we found. Cleanup is included on managed plans.
Can you migrate to a Cloud VPS?
Onto a managed plan, yes. Onto an unmanaged VPS, we'll hand over a backup for you to restore, or quote hands-on time at USD 10/hour.
What if I'm on Launch and have three sites?
One is free; the others are USD 100 each, or upgrade to Grow and they're all free.
Is the USD 100 refundable if you can't migrate my site?
If we assess your site and can't move it, we don't charge. We tell you before starting. ---
