Most agencies get off-page wrong because they do it the easy way. They take backlinks from irrelevant sites, or buy comments on forums, or dump some content on Medium that wasn't even written properly, just churned out by AI. And a lot of them simply buy backlinks. That is what most companies around India do, they buy links from sites owned by people whose only purpose is to make money from webmasters trying to lift their domain authority. Those are spammy sites and it is not recommended.
Here in Kerala you also see agencies stuffing AI content and building piles of backlinks with the same exact-match keywords. A site like that might rank for a few weeks, maybe a couple of months, and then it starts declining. And that is exactly when the client comes to us, confused, because their keywords, their on-page and their technical SEO are all fine, but their backlink profile looks spammy, or they bought links, or they used far too many exact-match anchors, and all of that damages the site's visibility.
We don't do that here, and I can promise a client that. We go for good directories, sites like Clutch, and mentions on platforms like Reddit and Quora, because a mention there is now enough for AI to choose you over your competitor. We earn links by pitching properly and writing genuinely good content to the other site's guidelines. And we never buy a link.
