  1. What is SEO and introduce the types of SEO?

SEO or search engine optimization is the process of increasing the traffic of web pages or website to reach the first position on search engine result page.

  1. What is on-page optimization?

On-Page Optimization refers to the optimization activities performed within the website itself. That means it is the process of optimizing individual web pages ( ie, optimizing content as well as HTML source code of web pages) to earn more relevant web traffic. Some of its aspects include URL structure, title tag, meta description and H1 tag.

  1. What is off-page optimization?

Off-page optimization is the promotional activities taken place outside the boundaries of web pages to improve search ranking on search engine result page. Off-page optimization includes link building (getting high-quality links from relevant sites), content marketing, social media marketing, increasing page authority etc.

  1. What do you mean by backlink?

It is the incoming links to your website or web pages. It is also called Inbound links. Backlinks from relevant sites with domain rating greater than “40” are always good for your site. A website with good backlink support shows high search ranking.

  1. What is an outbound link?

It is the links from your webpage or website to another website or web pages.

  1. What is the main purpose of using the keyword in SEO?

Keywords in SEO means any phrases or words included in the content of web pages. It helps the users to find the specific website by searching relevant queries over the search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. Keywords are stored in the database of the search engine, and when a search is performed, it will come up with the best possible match for the search.

  1. What is the difference between the organic result and the paid result?

The organic result is natural results, that means the web page listings that most closely match the user’s search query based on relevance. Paid results are basically an advertisement.

  1. What is internal linking?

Internal linking is the process of providing hyperlinks that connect from one page to another web page of the same website. Internal linking helps the search engine crawlers to crawl and index all the inner pages of a website. If we are providing internal linking, it directs the visitors from one page to another which means the visitors will stick to the same site. It will help to reduce the bounce rate of the website.

Google bots are web spiders. The crawling and indexing of web pages are done by these web spiders by collecting details from webpages.

  1. What are DR and PR?

DR means domain rating which is the measure of the quality of backlinks going to an entire domain. If you are finding backlinks from other relevant sites using tools like Ahref, choose backlinks having DR above 40.

PR is page rank. It is the grade (0-10) rated by Google for your webpage.

SERP is the position of your website on Google’s search engine result page based on the keyword or keyword combination provided by visitors.

  1. What is the difference between No follow and Do follow links?

Do follow link means, as the name suggests Google bots can follow these inbound links from other web pages or websites. Do follow links make the web page or website more relevant on Google search engines. While No follow links cannot be followed by Google bots. Only humans can follow these links.

  1. What is the title tag?

Title tag means page title. Title tag appears on the search engine result page just above the URL. You can also see the title tag on the top of the browser. A title tag describes the topic of a particular page to web page visitors as well as search engine crawlers. If we are properly using keywords in title tag, our website will reach a

higher position in search engine ranking.

  1. What is a meta tag description?

Meta tags give search engines a summary of web pages. Meta descriptions are HTML attributes that provide explanations of the contents of web pages. A meta description is often truncated after 1840 pixels.

  1. What are the heading tags?

Heading tags are used to separate headings and subheadings from rest of the contents of web pages. The purpose of H tags is to make readable to Google how the content is structured. H1 tag should not be placed more than one in a page. There are subheadings which are H2, H3, up to H6.

  1. What is the limitation of the title and meta description tags?

The title tag will truncate after 600 pixels (keep your title tag under 60 characters) and the meta description will truncate after 920 pixels (ie, the length is from 120 to 158 characters).

  1. What is a canonical tag?

The canonical tag is also known as canonical URL which is the search engine friendly URL for the web pages that you want visitors to see. Canonical tags are used to resolve content duplication.

www.example.com, example.com, www.example.com/index.html, example.com/home.asp, http://www.example.comhttps://www.example.com, all these URLs are typically different. Here comes the importance of canonicalization. Canonicalization is the process of picking the best URL by the search engine when multiple URLs are available. Canonical URLs are often used to describe the home page.

  1. What is 301 redirect?

It is the method of web page redirection. It redirects the visitor from old page to new page. By providing 301 redirections, search engine quickly indexes the new page.

  1. What is clocking?

Cloaking is the method of showing a content to the end user which is different from that shown to the search engine. It is used to deceive the Search engine by showing text that is not visible to the users and thereby manipulating the search engine’s index. So Google has made it strict against cloaking.

  1. What is robots.txt?

Robots.txt is used to prevent indexation of webpage contents that website owners don’t want to display. It is the way of telling search engine bots about web pages that you don’t want visitors to visit.

  1. What is XML sitemap?

XML means  Extensible Markup Language. Providing good XML sitemap helps in proper indexing of the website by the search engines.

  1. What is cross-linking?

Cross-linking is the process of linking one site to another. By cross-linking users will get the reference site that contains the contents to be searched.

  1. Tell something about white hat SEO and black hat SEO?
